How do I know if the crankshaft sensor in my Renault is faulty?
Common symptoms of a failing CKP sensor in Renault vehicles include: the starter cranks but the engine won't fire (the ECU has no reference for fuel and spark timing), sudden engine stalling - especially when the engine is warm, rough idle and fluctuating RPMs, and a Check Engine light with fault codes P0335-P0339. In limp mode, the engine may limit RPMs to around 3,500. When buying a replacement crankshaft speed sensor for your Renault, pay attention to the type - inductive (2-pin, sinusoidal signal) or Hall-effect (3-pin, square wave signal) - swapping types will prevent the engine from running.
