How do I know if the EGR valve on my Peugeot is faulty?
Symptoms depend on the type of failure. If the valve gets stuck in the open position, you'll notice a significant loss of power, rough idling, and black smoke from the exhaust - the engine may stutter or stall. A valve stuck in the closed position typically triggers the Check Engine warning light and causes the engine to run hotter than normal.
